Savannah & Sierra swam all their events (100 IM & freestyle, 50 butterfly, freestyle, breaststroke, & backstroke), and they were in the same heat every time. So they got to talk on their way back over to us. It was fun to watch.
I love watching the dives advance. I remember when Savannah & Sierra used to dive like this. Saige did really awesome. She was the only 6 and under kid who was willing to do the meet. So she got first place in both her events (25 back & freestyle). She swam with the 7 & 8 year olds and kept up with them very well.
For the most part Savannah and Sierra traded back and forth between first and third. Sierra got first in backstroke, that is her favorite stroke. Savannah got first in the butterfly, and that is her favorite stroke. It was cool to watch Savannah chase down the other girl. She is learning what these meets are for. She would see the girl ahead of her and she would just turn it on and pass her big time. It was awesome!!!!
Savannah technically got disqualified on the breaststroke, but she should not have been. She has learned the proper technique of a breaststroke turn and the lady that DQed her does not understand that technique. It was very sad and hard for Savannah to get over. But what do you do.....you win some, you lose some. The freestyle Savannah I think touched first, but the timers hit the button for the other girl first, there was .9 of a second difference.
Notice how no one is around Sierra. She seriously just loves backstroke!!!!!!! And she is good at it.
Saige noticed that one of the kids was not kicking on their backstroke so when she got in she showed the girl how to kick. It was awesome!!!!!!
All in all, it was good to be back on deck!!!

How fun, Heather! This makes me excited for my kids to do extra-curricular stuff like this. And that's awesome that they can do it together. Sierra looks so much like your family. Way cute!
