Oh the Joy

Since we don't have any big trees, and therefore cannot reap the reward of the fallen leaves yet we relied on the fact that the local church house has been here for a very long time and therefore has some big beautiful trees. I had been keeping an eye on the progress of the falling leaves so as not to miss the opportunity to jump in them. Well, the day came. We went to the church even before chores were done, just to make sure we got it in (that is how important this was to me). We only have one rake so Blake took that and the rest of us used our feet to get the leaves all rounded up. Here is what our pile started out as.

Then we let the jumping and throwing begin.

I love the look on the girls faces in these first picture. It shows the pure delight that can be when anticipation meets reality.

Summit and Sedona really didn't know what to think about the whole crazy ritual. Mostly they just stood there and looked at us like we were crazy.

For this picture I had to put all the kids in there and shot really fast.

Finally, after a lot of convincing, Summit decided to join in on the fun.

I could not resist the invitation to jump into the leaves. It was just too much for my inner child to withstand.

Blake climbed up into the tree and took some really great pictures.

Then all chaos ensued. There was no more "wait your turn" and we were all just jumping and having a grand ol' time.

Then we went back to posing for pictures.

These following pictures are of use trying to persuade Sedona of the fun in leaf hopping.

We were doing great too, until she got a leaf in her mouth.

All in all, I think she will do it again. Not necessarily of her own free will and choice, but mostly because her mother is so sold on the euphoric idea that leaves are too cool.

Then came the leaf picking. Every one of us were covered in leaves.

We had such a fabulous time we wanted to share some leaves with you.

In the act

I love getting pictures of my kids carving the pumpkins. They always make the best faces!

And here are the finished products, with their proud owners.

For the past month Sedona had been picking up the little pumpkins by the stem, now that they are carved she is not sure what exactly to do.

Here are a few pictures of the kids trick-or-treating. They had a lot of fun, and got good and scared!

This last house was the next door neighbor's. They had a spook garage and Blake was wise and kept the younger two out. The older three went through and got scared.
Of course, I was at home doing donuts and I forgot to get any pictures of that. Maybe one year I will get some good pictures of that. I will tell you what though, they were sooooooo good!!!!!!!
